Go to the Events Function Module
You can go to the Events function module by clicking the 'Events' command on the 'Go' menu, or by clicking the 'Events' button on the navigation panel in the main window.
Navigation Panel
Events can be managed by group. You can click 'New Group' on the 'Actions' menu to create a new event group. 'Other Events' is the default group in EfficientPIM. If a event does not belong to any custom group, it will belong to the 'Other Events' group. You can not delete or rename the 'Other Events' group, or add a subgroup for it.
If you click the name of a group, events belonging to this group appear in the event list on the right.
When you right-click the name of a group on the group list, you can rename or delete this group.
Drag and drop is supported when you manage groups. You can drag 'Group A' to 'Group B' to make it a subgroup of 'Group B'; and you can also drag 'Group A' to 'All Events' or 'Other Events' to make it a normal group (i.e. a group that is not a subgroup of any other group).
If you click the 'Next 7 Days' button on the navigation panel, the events to occur in the next 7 days will appear on the right. It is similar if you click other buttons.
Event Display List
The event display list is on the right side of the main window. When you right-click the list, a popup menu appears. You can double-click a event to open it in the edit event window. If you double-click some blank space in the list, the window to add a new event will display.
If you press 'Ctrl+N', the window to add a new event will appear; when you press 'Ctrl+O', the window to edit the currently selected event will appear; and when you press 'Ctrl+D', the currently selected event will be deleted and moved to the Recycle Bin.
If you hope more information, such as all fields, comment, attachment(s), etc., of the currently selected event can appear below the list, please click 'View' -> 'Details' or 'View' -> 'Comment' on the menu.
You can manage the grouping of events by drag and drop. You can drag a event in the list directly into a group in the navigation panel on the left.
Add New Event and Edit Event
The window to add a new event and to edit a event is the same.
For events of the type appointment or meeting, you can specify their start time and end time. Events of the type holiday are usually all day events. For such events, you can specify start and end dates.
You can specify a label (different labels have different colors) for an event. After that, when the event is displayed in the event display list or in calendar, it is displayed with the specified background color. You can click 'Options' on the 'Tools' menu to customize each event label's name.
The 'Related Contacts' of an event are usually the people you have an appointment with, or meeting participants. If you right-click the text box displaying related events at the bottom left of the new event window, you can check the details of the related events.
After you have entered all the information of the event in the new event window, press 'Ctrl+S' to save it.
Recurrence
Events can repeat according to some rules, such as occurring every several days, once a week on certain weekday, once a month on some day from the end of the month, etc.
